No Man’s Land
We shall declare ourselves Tunisian!
3 South African’s dreaming…
The silk threads that bind, a history but not a future?
How does it play to be black in Tunisia?
To be patriotic of Tunisia
Regardless of the ups and downs
Outsiders,
Inserted -
And looking from the inside out
During 2015 Ntsoana was priviliged to be part of the DREAM CITY Festival which was held in Tunisia. DREAM CITY is a project conceived by Selma and Sofiane Ouissi and implemented with L’Art Rue which focuses on Art in the Public Space. in 2015 the residency and performances took place in the old Medina of Tunis. For each edition of the DREAM CITY Festival, between 10 and 15 artists from Africa, the Middle East and Europe gather to create short performative pieces that enter into a dialogue with the Medina’s populations, public space, history and/or present. All the pieces are then shown together during a long festival weekend during which the spectators go on a journey through the Medina. There are always two working periods: a first research residency aimed at formulating a project, then a creation period.
